On September 22, 2009, Richard M. Kovacevich informed the Company that he will retire as Chairman and a director of the Company effective December 31, 2009, and will retire from the Company in early 2010. John G. Stumpf, the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, will assume the added responsibility of Chairman effective January 1, 2010.
The Company’s news release announcing Mr. Kovacevich’s retirement as Chairman and a director and Mr. Stumpf’s appointment as Chairman is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Form 8-K.
