Item 8.01 Other Events.
On December 17, 2020, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Seacoast Banking Corporation of Florida (the “Company”) authorized a share repurchase program (the “Share Repurchase Program”) pursuant to which the Company may, from time to time, purchase up to $100 million of its shares of outstanding common stock. The shares may be repurchased in the open market, by block purchase, or in privately negotiated transactions from time to time, depending upon market conditions and other factors, and in accordance with applicable regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Share Repurchase Program has an expiration date of December 31, 2021 and does not obligate the Company to purchase any shares of its common stock. The Share Repurchase Program may be terminated or amended by the Board at any time prior to the expiration date. A copy of the Company’s press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
