Item 8.01     Other Events.

 On December 1, 2008, Nevada Power Company d/b/a NV Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NV Energy, Inc, filed its mandatory General Rate Case (GRC) with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada.

 A copy of the press release detailing the GRC filing is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1.
