Item 5.02.	Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers
Consistent with the corporate governance policies of Union Bankshares Company, which provide that each Director shall retire from the Board of Directors upon his or her 72nd birthday, John V. Sawyer, II retired as Director and Chairman of the Board on October 19, 2005, and Director Sandra H. Collier was elected as Chairman of the Board.
