Energy XXI Announces Early Termination of Hart-Scott-Rodino Waiting Period in Connection with Pending Acquisition of EPL Oil & Gas
HOUSTON, April 7, 2014-- Energy XXI (Nasdaq:EXXI) (AIM:EXXI) today announced that it and EPL Oil & Gas, Inc. have received early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended, in connection with Energy XXI’s pending acquisition of EPL. The early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act satisfies one of the conditions for consummation of the transaction.
The transaction remains subject to certain other closing conditions, including approval by EPL stockholders and Energy XXI shareholders.
