Explanation of Responses:

1. Number of common shares issued pursuant to the completion of the hold period ending on 1/1/2024 applicable to the time vested Restricted Share Units ("RSU") vested on 1/1/2022; RSU were assumed by SouthState Corporation in connection with the CenterState Bank Corporation merger completed on 6/7/2020.

2. Number of common shares issued pursuant to the time vested RSU vested on 1/1/2024; RSU were awarded on 1/26/2021, vesting at a rate of one third on each January 1st, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

3. Number of common shares issued pursuant to the time vested RSU vested on 1/1/2024; RSU were awarded on 1/19/2022, vesting at a rate of one third on each January 1st, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

4. Number of common shares issued pursuant to the time vested RSU vested on 1/1/2024; RSU were awarded on 1/24/2023, vesting at a rate of one third on each January 1st, 2024, 2025 and 2026.

5. Withholding of shares to pay tax liability applicable to securities issued in accordance with Rule 16(b)-3.
