Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers
On September 24, 2019, Mr. Ian C. Read, Executive Chairman of Pfizer Inc. (the “Company”), notified the Company of his intention to retire as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and as a Director of the Company on December 31, 2019. The Board of Directors of the Company elected Dr. Albert Bourla, the Company’s current Chief Executive Officer, as Chairman of the Board effective January 1, 2020. Dr. Bourla will also continue as Chief Executive Officer.
