Item 8.01 Other Events.
On April 15, 2010, Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc. issued a press release announcing an agreement with Progress Energy Carolinas to provide natural gas delivery service to the electric utility’s power generation facility to be built at its existing Sutton site near Wilmington, North Carolina. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
