On August 7, 2023, Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated (PSEG) closed on its previously announced commitment agreement with The Prudential Insurance Company of America (Insurer) under which the Pension Plan of Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated and Pension Plan of Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated II (together, the Plans) agreed to purchase a nonparticipating single premium group annuity contract that will transfer to the Insurer approximately $1 billion of the Plans’ defined benefit pension obligations and associated Plan assets related to certain pension benefits covering approximately 2,000 retirees from PSEG Power & Other.
