Item 8.01 Other Events.
On July 6, 2021, the board of directors of Lakeland Industries, Inc. (the “Company”) authorized an increase in the Company’s current stock repurchase program under which the Company may repurchase up to an additional $5,000,000 of its outstanding common stock. The repurchases will be made through open market purchases at prevailing market prices or in privately negotiated transactions in such a manner as will comply with the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, and other applicable laws. Repurchases will be made from time to time at the Company’s discretion depending on market conditions, share price and availability and other factors. The repurchase program may be suspended or discontinued by the Company at any time without prior notice.
On July 7, 2021, the Company issued a press release announcing the above-detailed change. The press release issued by the Company in connection with the announcement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
