Item 8.01 Other Events.
On July 18, 2008, Baker Hughes Incorporated (the “Company”) issued a news release announcing corrected operating profit before tax results for the Middle East Asia Pacific and Europe, Africa, Russia, Caspian regions for thirteen quarters. The news release the Company issued on July 8, 2008 disclosed its historical revenue by region and operating profit before tax by region for thirteen quarters from the quarter ending March 31, 2005 through the quarter ended March 31, 2008. The Company also disclosed that in the future, it will report revenue and operating profit before tax for its two operating segments, Drilling and Evaluation and Completion and Production, as well as for its four geographic regions. A copy of the news release is furnished with this Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
