On May 21, 2007, the Board of Directors (the “Board”) of Bank of Granite Corporation, acting upon the recommendations of the Board’s Compensation Committee and the Board of Directors of its mortgage banking subsidiary, Granite Mortgage, Inc. approved an increase in the base salary to $156,000 for Granite Mortgage’s chief executive officer. The base salary of Granite Mortgage’s chief executive officer has not been adjusted since 2003.
