Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.
On February 6, 2006, Komag, Incorporated (Komag) issued a press release announcing that Komag’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Thian Hoo Tan, will be retiring late in 2006. The press release also indicated that Komag will begin an executive search for a new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
