2020 Cost of Capital Application
On November 25, 2019, the California Public Utilities Commission issued a proposed decision in SCE’s 2020 Cost of Capital proceeding that if adopted would maintain SCE’s return on common equity (“ROE”) for the three year period beginning January 1, 2020 at 10.3%. If the proposed decision is adopted, SCE's annual cost of capital adjustment mechanism will also remain unchanged. If adopted, the decision would increase the common equity component of SCE’s capital structure from its current authorized level of 48% to 52% in 2020 and correspondingly reduce its preferred equity component from 9% to 5%. SCE is reviewing the proposed decision and expects a final decision in December 2019 or early 2020.
