Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers
(b) On December 15, 2006, Mr. Sasson Somekh provided notice to Novellus Systems, Inc. (the “Company”) that Mr. Somekh intends to retire as President of the Company effective January 29, 2007.
(e) On December 20, 2006, in connection with his retirement from the office of President, Mr. Somekh and the Company entered into an employment agreement providing for Mr. Somekh’s services in various capacities through September 30, 2010. In exchange for these services, Mr. Somekh will receive an aggregate salary of $100,000 over the term of the Agreement.
