On August 23, 2004, New Hampshire Thrift Bancshares, Inc. (the “Registrant”) issued a press release announcing the intention of NHTB Capital Trust I (the “Trust”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Registrant, to redeem on September 30, 2004 all of the Trust’s 9.25% Capital Securities.
