On October 11, 2011, New Hampshire Thrift Bancshares, Inc. (the “Company”), which is the parent company of Lake Sunapee Bank, fsb (the “Bank”), issued a press release announcing announce its agreement to acquire McCrillis & Eldredge Insurance, Inc., (“McCrillis & Eldredge”) of Newport, New Hampshire. The acquisition is expected to close within thirty days. The press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 hereto and is incorporated herein by reference.
