HORACE MANN EDUCATORS CORPORATION ANNOUNCES
PRICING OF $75 MILLION SENIOR NOTE OFFERING
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., June 6, 2005 — Horace Mann Educators Corporation (NYSE:HMN) today announced the pricing of a sale of $75 million aggregate principal amount of 6.05% senior notes due 2015. The closing of the offering is expected to occur on June 9, 2005.
The company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to redeem its 6 5/8% senior notes due 2006 and reduce the amount currently outstanding under its bank credit facility. Any remaining net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, and potentially to reduce other corporate indebtedness.
The senior notes will be issued pursuant to the company’s effective shelf registration statement on Form S-3 (File No. 333-111234).
