Item 8.01 Other Events.
On June 19, 2006, AVANIR Pharmaceuticals (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that the Company had been advised in a teleconference with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA"), that the FDA will extend the review period by 90 days for the Neurodex™ new drug application ("NDA") for Involuntary Emotional Expression Disorder. Accordingly, the Company expects the FDA will take action on the NDA by October 30, 2006.
