On June 30, 2005, Del Monte Foods Company (the “Company”) announced via press release that it has purchased approximately 12 million shares of its common stock from Goldman Sachs International in a private transaction in connection with an accelerated stock buyback (ASB) arrangement.
A copy of the press release announcing the stock purchase is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated by reference herein.
