Severn Bancorp, Inc. Announces Third Quarter Earnings

Severn Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq - SVBI) the parent company of Severn Savings Bank, FSB and Hyatt Commercial, today announced earnings for the third quarter ended September 30, 2005. Net income for the third quarter (unaudited) was $3.9 million or $.47 per share, compared to $3.3 million or $.40 per share for the third quarter of 2004. Net income increased approximately 12% to $10.6 million, or $1.27 per share for the nine months ended September 30, 2005, compared to $9.5 million, or $1.15 per share for the nine months ended September 30, 2004.

With approximately $820 million in assets, Severn Savings Bank, FSB is a community bank focused on residential and commercial mortgage lending in Anne Arundel County and, to a lesser extent, in other parts of Maryland, Delaware and Northern Virginia.
