On June 5, 2007, Atmel Corporation (the “Company”) received notice that George Perlegos will not solicit proxies from the Company’s shareholders as to any issue, including the makeup of the Company’s Board of Directors, in connection with the Company’s annual meeting to be held in July 2007.
