On September 28, 2007, Par Pharmaceutical Companies, Inc. (the “Company”) hosted an Analyst/Investor Day in New York City at which the Company announced expected financial results for the first six months of 2007. Copies of the press release regarding this information and the power point presentation from the Analyst/Investor Day are set forth in Exhibits 99.1 and 99.2, respectively, attached hereto.

On September 28, 2007, the Company issued a press release announcing the expansion of its share repurchase program pursuant to which the Board of Directors approved the repurchase of up to $75 Million of the Company’s Common Stock.
