Item 8.01. OTHER EVENTS.
On March 1, 2016, Taubman Centers, Inc. (Taubman) issued a press release announcing the completion of the purchase of Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri from Highwoods Properties, Inc. with The Macerich Company (Macerich). Consideration for the mixed-use retail and office property was $660 million cash, excluding transaction costs. Taubman and Macerich each own a 50% interest in the center.
A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99 to this report and is incorporated herein by reference.
