Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
Effective May 15, 2009, Service Corporation International (the “Company”) appointed Tammy R. Moore to the position of Corporate Controller of the Company. Also effective May 15, 2009, Jeffrey I. Beason, Vice President and Corporate Controller, resigned his office as Corporate Controller of the Company and will remain a Vice President of the Company for an interim period. Ms. Moore replaces Mr. Beason as the principal accounting officer of the Company.
Ms. Moore, 42, joined the Company in August 2002 as Manager of Financial Reporting. She was promoted to Director of Financial Reporting in 2004 and Managing Director and Assistant Controller in June 2006. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Moore was a Certified Public Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for more than three years. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
