Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure
On January 27, 2006 Plains Exploration & Production Company (PXP) issued a press release announcing that a representative of PXP is scheduled to present at the CSFB Energy Summit in Vail, Colorado on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. Mountain Standard time. The press release and the presentation materials for the conference are filed herewith as Exhibits 99.1 and 99.2, respectively, and are incorporated herein by reference. The presentation materials will also be posted in the Investor Information section of PXP’s website,http://www.plainsxp.com for 60 days after the event.
