Section 8 – Other Events
Item 8.01 – Other Events.
On August 14, 2013, the facility of the Company’s Perma-Fix of South Georgia, Inc. subsidiary (“Facility”), located in Valdosta, Georgia, suffered a fire. All of the employees at the Facility have been accounted for and two employees who sustained injuries as a result of this incident are in stable condition. The Company is determining the cause of the event and the extent of the damages and the facility is currently non-operational. The Company does not have an estimate on the extent of the damages or the repair time, but the Company carries general liability, property and business interruption insurance with a maximum deductible of approximately $300,000. Our Perma-Fix of South Georgia, Inc. subsidiary’s financial results are reported as discontinued operations.
