HEMAGEN ANNOUNCES FDA CLEARANCE OF THREE NEW LIQUID STABLE REAGENTS
COLUMBIA, MD – August 25, 2004 – Hemagen Diagnostics, Inc. (NASDAQ: HMGN.OB) announced today that it received 510K clearance to market three new liquid stable reagents, Glucose, BUN, and Calcium for use on various Clinical Chemistry Analyzers, through its RAICHEM division. The Raichem liquid stable Glucose, BUN, and Calcium were determined to be substantially equivalent to other legally marketed predicate devices.
William P. Hales, President and CEO stated, “We are pleased that through our R&D efforts at Raichem we were able to have these products 510K cleared. We expect to launch the product in the first quarter of fiscal 2005 with an OEM customer, and others. We are committed to continuing to work to complete our line of liquid stable ready to use reagents.”
Hemagen Diagnostics, Inc., is a biotechnology company that develops, manufactures, and markets more than 150 FDA-cleared proprietary medical diagnostic test kits used to aid in the diagnosis of certain autoimmune and infectious diseases.
