Item 8.01. Other Events.
On November 30, 2010, Icagen, Inc. provided an update on its sodium channel program for pain and related disorders which is being conducted in collaboration with Pfizer. As previously reported, the companies recently conducted a clinical study in healthy volunteers of several collaboration compounds targeting the sodium ion channel Nav1.7. Based upon data obtained in this study, the companies have now selected one of these compounds to advance into further clinical studies. The selection of this compound will trigger a milestone payment to Icagen of $1.0 million.
