Item 8.01 Other Events.
On December 22, 2004, Rural/Metro Corporation, a Delaware corporation (the “Company”), issued a press release announcing that the Company had recently received notification from the NASDAQ Listing Qualification Department that the Company’s listing application had been approved and that the Company would resume trading under the symbol “RURL” on the NASDAQ SmallCap Market. The full text of the Company’s press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
