Item 8.01 Other Events.
On December 21, 2005, the registrant, Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc., issued a press release relating to its provision of data from a recently concluded Phase 2 study of its drug candidate HepeX-B™ as maintenance therapy to prevent reinfection with hepatitis B in patients with liver transplants. A copy of the press release has been filed as an exhibit to this Report on Form 8-K, attached hereto as exhibit 99.1, and is incorporated herein by reference.
