Item 2.02 Results of Financial Operations and Financial Condition.
On July 15, 2010, the registrant, Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“Cubist”), issued a press release reporting its results for the quarter ended June 30, 2010. The press release has been furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Report on Form 8-K.

Item 8.01 Other Events.
On July 13, 2010, Cubist issued a press release announcing that its Phase 2 safety study of CUBICIN® (daptomycin for injection) in the treatment of prosthetic joint infections caused by certain Gram positive pathogens met its study objectives. A copy of the press release has been filed as Exhibit 99.2 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
