Item 8.01 Other Events.
On October 22, 2013, the registrant, Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc., issued a press release announcing that it had submitted a New Drug Application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration requesting approval of its investigational antibiotic tedizolid phosphate for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections. A copy of the press release announcing this event has been filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
