Item 8.01 Other Events
On March 16, 2006, Merrill Merchants Bancshares, Inc. issued a press release announcing a 3% stock dividend to all shareholders of record as of March 31, 2006, for distribution on April 7, 2006. In addition, the Company announced a cash dividend of $.17 per share on the common stock payable April 28, 2006 to shareholders of record on April 14, 2006. The press release announcing the cash dividend is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
