On September 21, 2010, AT&T announced the availability of its new Satellite Augmented Mobile Service with the TerreStar GENUS™ dual mode cellular/satellite smartphone for enterprise, government and small business customers. The TerreStar Genus™ smartphone is a dual mode voice, data and messaging device that provides service over both the AT&T terrestrial wireless network and the TerreStar Networks satellite network using TerreStar-1, the world’s largest, most powerful commercial communications satellite.
