Item 8.01. Other Events.
On April 14, 2011, Wave Systems Corp. announced a $3.5 million agreement with BASF to provide the global chemical firm with Wave’s EMBASSY® client and server software and maintenance services for its new global fleet of personal computers. This announcement was made via a press release entitled “BASF Selects Wave in $3.5 Million Agreement to Protect Sensitive Data on Corporate Laptops”. A copy of this press release has been filed with this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
