Item 8.01 | Other Events |
On November 5, 2015, Southern California Edison Company (“SCE”), a subsidiary of Edison International, along with Pacific Gas and Electric Company, San Diego Gas & Electric Company, and Southern California Gas Company (collectively, the “Joint Investor-Owned Utilities”) sent a letter to the Executive Director of the California Public Utilities Commission (“CPUC”) jointly requesting a one-year extension of the due date for the Joint Investor-Owned Utilities to file their next cost of capital applications. Both the CPUC’s Office of Ratepayer Advocates and The Utility Reform Network support this request. If granted, SCE’s next cost of capital application would be due on April 20, 2017 instead of April 20, 2016. The request leaves the current automatic adjustment mechanism in place, but the Joint Investor-Owned Utilities have agreed that there will be no changes to their respective costs of capital until the end of 2017. For more information about SCE’s cost of capital and the adjustment mechanism, see Edison International’s and SCE’s joint Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2014.
