On August 3, 2006, PPL Corporation ("PPL") issued a press release announcing its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 and other business matters. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.

On August 3, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time), members of senior management of PPL will hold a teleconference with financial analysts to discuss PPL's financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 and other business matters. A copy of the slides to be used during the teleconference is attached as Exhibit 99.2 and is incorporated herein by reference. The teleconference will be available live, in audio format, along with the slides, on PPL's Internet Web site: www.pplweb.com. The webcast of the teleconference will be available for replay on PPL's Web site for 30 days.
