Aimco acquired the remaining 50% interest in the property in July 2003. This 35-acre apartment community was re-entitled to increase density by approximately70%, and the City approved Aimco’s plans to demolish the existing buildings and develop new apartments. In 2005, Aimco substantially vacated the property and began building demolition inpreparation for the approved project; however,progress was halted by litigation initiatedby tenants and conservationists. In June 2010, settlements were reached with tenants, conservationists and the City, which resolved all outstanding litigation involving Lincoln Place. Today,Aimco has received all discretionary approvals necessary to proceed withredevelopment and all entitlements are in place.
