| Item 2.02 | Results of Operations and Financial Condition |
On July 16, 2014, Intervest Bancshares Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release related to its results of operation for the quarterly period ended June 30, 2014. The Company also announced that its Board of Directors approved a cash dividend for the second quarter of 2014. The Company will pay a dividend of $0.05 per share to holders of the Company’s common stock. The dividend is payable August 26, 2014 to shareholders of record at the close of business on August 15, 2014. The text of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
