Item 8.01. Other Events.
On November 17, 2010, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation (the “Company”) filed a Current Report on Form 8-K in connection with a work stoppage at the Company’s mill in La Tuque, Quebec. On November 18, 2010, a majority of the members of UNIK Local 34 voted to approve the Company’s contract proposal, which had previously been rejected. The Company expects to resume production at the La Tuque mill as soon as possible. The work stoppage will not have a material financial impact to the Company.
