ITEM 8.01 Other Events.
On May 2, 2007, Standard & Poor’s Rating Services announced that it has upgraded the financial strength ratings of Arch Reinsurance Ltd., Arch Reinsurance Company, Arch Insurance Company, Arch Specialty Insurance Company, Arch Excess & Surplus Insurance Company and Arch Insurance Company (Europe) Limited from “A-” to “A”. The entities comprise the principal operating companies of Arch Capital Group Ltd. Standard & Poor’s also upgraded the counterparty credit and senior debt ratings on Arch Capital Group Ltd. to ‘BBB+’ from ‘BBB’. The outlook on all of the ratings is stable.
