Method for regulating the temperature of a glow plug
15 Mar 22
Described is a method for regulating the temperature of a glow plug of an internal combustion engine, wherein a target resistance is determined from a target temperature by means of a resistance temperature characteristic of the glow plug and the actual resistance of the glow plug is regulated to the target resistance, the glow plug is heated to determine the resistance temperature characteristic of the glow plug, and thereby determining a resistance gradient and an electrical resistance of the glow plug is measured before the heating or at a defined time during the heating, using both the measured resistance and the resistance gradient, the resistance temperature characteristic is determined.

Compressor recirculation into annular volume
1 Mar 22
To solve the problems of compressor wheel blade flow separation causing surge type noises when an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) duct introduces into the compressor exhaust gases to be returned to the engine, the exhaust gas is fed into an annular volume, defined between inner and outer walls or an annular transition cavity shaped as a radially expanded, axially flattened cylindrical space in the compressor inlet, so that the generally unidirectional radial flow from an EGR duct is re-directed and organized as it is turned from generally radial to generally axial, merging with the general inlet flow and presenting the compressor wheel with airflow of “circumferentially uniform” flow velocity.

Turbine arrangement for controlling a gas flow
1 Mar 22
A turbine arrangement for controlling a gas flow, in particular for a fuel cell (2) or for an internal combustion engine (3), and a charging device having such a turbine arrangement, is described, in which the gas flow supplied by an inlet (10) can be controlled by an adjustable slide bushing (48) covering an entry opening (43) to form a turbine wheel (38) arranged in a turbine housing (30) between a closed position and an open position, such that, in the closed position, the gas flow is throttled and, in the at least partially open position, a controllable proportion of the gas flow drives the turbine wheel (38) arranged on a shaft (22) of an electric engine (18) functioning as a generator for recuperating energy, wherein the slide bushing (48) releases a wall opening (64) in the turbine housing (30) above a predetermined value of the gas flow, such that a bypass channel emerges in order to guide gas flow past the turbine wheel (38) directly to an outlet opening (24).

Method for determining the resistance temperature characteristic of a ceramic glow plug
1 Mar 22
A method is described for determining the resistance temperature characteristic of a ceramic glow plug, wherein the glow plug is heated at a specified power, wherein before the heating it is first determined whether the glow plug is an aged glow plug, and then, if the glow plug has not been detected as an aged glow plug, the glow plug is heated at a first specified power and the resistance value thereby achieved is assigned to a temperature that is anticipated to be the final temperature when heating a factory-outlet glow plug at this first power, or if the glow plug has been detected as an aged glow plug, the glow plug is heated at a reduced power which is smaller than the first power, and the resistance value achieved thereby is assigned to the same temperature that is also anticipated when heating a factory-outlet glow plug at the first power.
