Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.
On August 25, 2006, Connetics Corporation, or the Company, issued a press release announcing that Tom Carey joined the Company as Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations effective September 5, 2006. Mr. Carey was most recently Vice President of Professional Sales at OrthoNeutrogena, a division of Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals, a Johnson & Johnson company, where he led the sales and managed care activities of the dermatology business.
The Company also announced that John Higgins, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer, will assume the new role of Executive Vice President of Corporate Development. Mr. Higgins will continue in his current role as the Company searches for a new Chief Financial Officer.
A copy of the Company’s press release announcing these changes to the Company’s organization is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
