Item 8.01. Other Events.
On May 17, 2019, Argan, Inc. (“Argan”) issued a press release announcing that its wholly owned subsidiary, Gemma Power Systems (“Gemma”), recently entered into an engineering, procurement and construction services contract with ESC Harrison County Power, LLC to construct a 625 MW natural gas-fired power plant in Harrison County, West Virginia. Gemma has received a limited notice to proceed for this project which will allow it to continue project planning and engineering activities. Construction for the facility is scheduled to begin this summer with completion scheduled in 2022. Caithness Energy L.L.C. partnered with Energy Solutions Consortium, LLC to develop this project.
