On September 26, 2006, Mr. C. John Wilder, chairman and chief executive officer of TXU Corp. (the “Company”), will participate in a panel discussion titled “Texas and Beyond” at the Merrill Lynch Global Power and Gas Leaders Conference in New York. Mr. Wilder’s comments are expected to include a discussion of the dynamics in the competitive Texas electricity industry. The presentation does not include updates on the progress of the Company’s power generation development program, which are expected to be provided at the upcoming EEI Financial Conference in early November. A copy of Mr. Wilder’s slide presentation is furnished herewith as Exhibit 99.1.
