Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers.
Bay Banks of Virginia, Inc. (OTCBB: BAYK, the “Company”), parent company of Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust Company, announced the election of Robert F. Hurliman as Chairman of its Board of Directors effective May 18, 2009. Mr. Hurliman, who has served on the Company’s Board since May of 2007, succeeds Allen C. Marple who has reached the mandatory retirement age as stated in the Company’s bylaws. Robert Hurliman first became associated with the Company when he was elected to the Bay Trust Company Board of Directors in April of 2006. Before his retirement from Daimler Chrysler Corporation, Mr. Hurliman served as the Director of Vehicle Logistics.
