Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
Management of Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (“Alpha”) plans to participate in several investor conferences in late May and early June 2014. A copy of the written presentation that Alpha expects to make available during these conferences is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
On May 28, 2014, Alpha reconfirmed the guidance for 2014 set forth in its earnings release dated May 1, 2014, except that it now anticipates an increase in 2014 interest expense of approximately $25 million in connection with its recent issuance of $500 million aggregate principal amount of 7.50% senior secured second lien notes due 2020.
