LIFEPOINT HOSPITALS, INC. ANNOUNCES
OFFERING OF CONVERTIBLE SENIOR SUBORDINATED NOTES
Brentwood, Tennessee(May 21, 2007) — LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPNT) announced today that it intends to offer, subject to market and other considerations, $500 million aggregate principal amount of Convertible Senior Subordinated Notes due May 15, 2014. The Company also intends to grant the underwriters an over-allotment option to purchase up to $75 million of additional notes. The Company intends to use the proceeds from the offering to repay indebtedness under its revolving credit facility and term loan facility.
The notes will be issued pursuant to an effective registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Citi will act as the book-running manager in connection with the offering.
