Item 8.01 Other Events.
Echo Healthcare Acquisition Corp. (the “Company”) has issued two press releases, copies of which are furnished as exhibits to this Form 8-K, announcing that: (i) XLNT Veterinary Care, Inc. (“XLNT”), a provider of veterinary primary care services to companion animals through a network of fully-owned veterinary hospitals, acquired four additional veterinary hospitals during the month of February 2007; and (ii) XLNT has hired Dr. Stephen Ettinger, D.V.M., as XLNT’s newly appointed Chief Medical Officer, effective immediately. Including these four transactions, XLNT has now purchased a total of 13 hospitals since Echo announced on September 11, 2006 that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire XLNT.
